About Us:

Restoring Hope Counseling Center is a private practice counseling center in Birmingham, AL. Restoring Hope Counseling is owned by Jayson and Kristina Curry. The Curry’s originally met in 2013 after Kristina graduated with her counseling degree and started working for a private practice in Mobile, AL.

Counseling holds a special place in both of our lives. As we have sought out our own counseling, we have experienced the power of sitting with another person and working through any number of issues. Counseling has been a place that both of us have been able to share about our daily lives and struggles, areas we would like a little help to grow and also deeper places we would like to find healing.

Being able to provide the same level of care we have been given is a great honor. We truly believe that you can only walk with a client to the extent you have gone yourself. For that reason, we have both been in counseling ourselves for many years and continue to do the work of finding light in the darkness.

We understand that there is a variety of reasons why someone would seek out counseling. We see counseling as a way for people to change and grow from daily issues and inconveniences to much deeper wounds. We have a variety of techniques and theories we have been trained in and are capable of tailoring our style of counseling to help with a wide variety of clients and issues. We want to do our best to meet each individual in what they are struggling with and do our best to use our training to guide us in the process. One of the key components of our view of counseling is a relational model that views clients as unique individuals to be known and not just problems to be fixed.

It is a sacred space to sit with someone as they share their lives with us. The sacred space of a counseling office is a place where we get to hold both people’s greatest fears, regrets and challenges but also their glory, dreams, and triumphs.
